An athlete could be going through a war in their head but no one would know because we don't talk about it.

The mission
Advocacy Through Journalism.
In American society mental health is often overlooked. This is especially true in sports where a strong stigma against showing "weakness" prevents discussion. Just in the last year, several famous athletes have pushed past that stigma to talk about their struggles with mental health. Playing Mind Games seeks to continue that discussion, to give everyone a voice and to erase the stigma.
Improvements in the sports world will only be made the more mental health is openly talked about.
The Inspiration
WANTED:
MEN
A struggle of this project has been finding male athletes willing to talk about themselves and their mental health. From the outside looking in, as a woman in sports, the stigma this project hopes to erase seems especially profound in men's sports.
We encourage men to come forward, to tell their stories, and to help to lessen this burden on others.
